ATLANTA, September 28, 2021 – PCA Retirement and Benefits (RBI) today announced their standing as a “Certified Best Christian Workplace,” as designated by Best Christian Workplaces Institute (BCWI). The honor, given to just 96 Christian organizations in the first half of 2021, aims to recognize ministries that foster a positive workplace culture and set the standard for healthy places of work.
“As a Christian organization, it’s important that we extend our business commitment to care for the spiritual, emotional, and financial wellbeing of our constituents, to our own colleagues,” said Jon Medlock, Vice President of People and Culture at RBI. “We believe that our work is a way to honor God. This is reflected in our commitment to fostering a positive and encouraging workplace.”
Organizations certified as a “Best Christian Workplace,” are evaluated using BCWI’s “FLOURISH” model. Factors include: Fantastic Teams, Life-Giving Work, Outstanding Talent, Uplifting Growth, Rewarding Compensation, Inspirational Leadership, Sustainable Strategy, and Healthy Communication. Based on results from employee surveys, certification is awarded to those organizations deemed “Healthy” or “Flourishing,”
My role is to cultivate a robust, healthy, and gospel-inflected organizational culture,” said Medlock. “We do this in a number of ways. We seek employee engagement and feedback by regularly surveying staff for input on issues like workplace culture, staff care, and benefits. We provide development opportunities so our people can grow in their skills and as people made in God’s image. We strive together for spiritual maturity by applying the gospel to our work.”
